My Drawings and Their Stories

Coexist
She was different than me.
She had pony tails and wore a flower dress to begin with. She talked to the dogs and cats and hugged trees. She was so different.
She was different.
I loved her.

Arrive By Bicycle
Dreams called our names.
Dreams said “Don’t arrive with a car. They are always thirsty. Don’t arrive with an airplane. They are only fake flying.”.
“Arrive by bicycle. Smell. Look. See. Listen. Hear.
You will know,
When you are near.
No Need
No need for a magic carpet.
I smoke my nargile...
And I can fly!
Too Many Clothes
The human lady had too many clothes that she never wore.
My oak friend got cold in early Spring.
I cut up the clothes of the human lady and dressed my tree friend up.
She radiated.
I got a tan.

Porcupine Dreams
So I said to myself “I will give a porcupine an apple”. I love watching porcupines eat crunchy apples. Then the porcupine gave me an appley smile and danced a porcupine dance. I laughed and I was happy. So I said to myself “There are squirrels, birds, humans, whales... How magical would that be if they all smiled like that”. So I got on the road.
When I give my gifts, the stars dance at night and send me starry kisses. Porcupine dreams paint my life with colors of the rainbow.

Winter Sun
The winter was long and cold. When the sun finally came out, she was orange and shy. We wanted to tell her how much she was loved and missed, so we wrote poems of gratitiude and greeted her with big, wild flowers that can fly high. The sun was happy and she sang hearts and stars.

Please Take One
The tunnel under The Galata Bridge was dark and gloomy. People sparkled the last bits of stars in their hearts to find their way out. My heart had the joy of the ocean waves and the mountain winds so my saxaphone sang notes of hope and stardust. We hung them on the walls and then on the whole city. Life is beautiful.

My Heart Sang
There was hurt, anger and greed.
I found a walnut shell in the ocean and took out my flute from my pocket.
My flute sang. Hurt became a kitten, anger turned into cotton candy and greed gave it all away.
I kept playing...
Playing...
Playing...
Play.

Rooster of Istanbul
I woke up as early as I could and she was already waiting. There was a fish tail hanging from her beak. She wiped it clean with her huge wing. She was beautiful. She knew I knew.
“I am heavy” I said.
“I can carry you” she said. “You are worth it”.
Today I reached out my hand. A feather fell on my hand.
I can fly. I am not heavy.
I can fly.

Blueberries on My Pancakes
I don’t need a plazma TV or a Blueberry. I like blueberries on my pancake.
What little I have... makes me happy.
I have seasons... I have the chubby moon... Sometimes even the porcupine dreams...
I am rich.
So I say my thanks...
I am so rich.

Magic Teapot
Magic is in the wings of a butterfly. I caught up with one and asked if I could have some. She reached out and put the magic in my heart.
I poured my heart in a teapot and brewed it real strong. I released it in the morning of the summer solistice.
The smoke dispersed from the city and made room for beauty.
Nobody knew why they woke up with a smile on their face. Maybe the ants and they keep good secrets.

Good-bye Pacific Clipper
Good-bye Pacific Clipper It came and I could not see the seagulls anymore. I could not see the ferries anymore. I knew they were there. They knew I was here. But could not see. I took out my scissors. Good-bye Pacific Clipper! So long...
